As Jeff and I knelt by our bed tonight to say our prayer together Jeff asked me the date. I told him it was the 9th…which meant it was an ‘odd’ date and his turn to pray.
Are you sure?
Yup, you’re turn.
Really, it isn’t the 8th?
Nope, you’re turn.
For some reason we have this conversation all the time. I don’t know why, but we always like the other person to pray. It’s not as if I don’t like praying, in fact, I really really like it. But after hearing myself pray all day long, it’s nice to hear my husband. (am I alone in this?)
Oh. I think we forgot to pray last night, that’s why you think it’s my turn.
We forgot? Hmm…that’s not good, bummer.
But then we came to the conclusion that in 3.5 years of marriage, we can count on one hand the amount of times we have forgotten to pray together.
And that’s pretty darn good.
Thanks, babe for always helping me remember to pray. It is one of the best parts of the day.

so this is totally the conversation we have every night! Except I'm odd days and Trav is even days -that way we don't have to be the one praying on our own birthday. :)
We do the even/odd days prayer saying too. I agree, it is much nicer to hear a prayer from your spouse since you obviously listen to your own prayers all the time!
I've been wanting to tell you, I love this "second" blog of yours-it inspires me to be a better mom! You really are a wonderful mom to your kiddos. And....they're adorable!
Ha ha, we have this conversation every night too!!! Though really, usually I dont want to go to sleep yet, so on my nights I hold my prayer as ransom to try to keep sam as night-time company for longer :)
Nope, you are definitely not alone in this! We do that almost every time and I too LOVE to hear Joe pray. Isn't it just so fun to have such special guys to help us be better wives and mothers??
Wow, I feel dumb, we do every other prayer but this odd even thing sounds way better.
